How to read the lists

Why is a video with more views below one with fewer?

The YouTube lists are ordered by views per hour over the last 24 hours, not by total views. A video from three days ago stays high if it gained many views in the last 24 hours, and one with a large total drops if it stopped gaining. The lists show what is gaining views now, not all-time records, so a row does not show its total. It shows the channel and when the video went up. A number such as 12:35 on the corner of the picture is the video length.

How often do they change?

The YouTube lists are recomputed every hour. The Netflix lists change once a week. The Wavve, web novel and webtoon lists are fetched four times a day, and the Chzzk list every hour. The Instagram list is refreshed on the first day of each month.

Is a video that went up an hour ago at a disadvantage?

New videos are measured from publication. We use a minimum divisor of one hour. Older videos discovered late are measured from their first observation within the last 24 hours. Videos wait when observations are insufficient. Live streams, and their replays, are not listed.

Do views alone determine eligibility?

Selection considers Korean relevance and reactions relative to views. Shorts need a Korean title or audio, a hand-reviewed channel list, or a majority of Korean titles on that channel. A channel name or registered country alone is not enough. A Short whose recent comments are 20% or less Hangul goes to Global unless it is K-POP. Eligible videos are ranked by views per hour. Public view counts include viewers worldwide. They do not measure Korean viewers alone. The full list of conditions is on How the lists are made. Do you cover every YouTube channel?

No. YouTube offers no way to see every video at once. The set of Korean channels and videos this site watches keeps growing, but some videos are still missed. If a channel should be followed, tell us on the board or by e-mail.

Can one channel appear several times?

Yes. There is no limit per channel. If one channel holds several rows, that is what happened, so it stays. Sports, Esports, News, Politics, K-POP Music and K-POP Variety stay out of Top. Music that is not a K-POP song stays in Top.

Who decides the Netflix, Wavve and Naver lists?

Those services do. Netflix publishes a Top 10 for each country every Tuesday, Wavve shows a Top 20 for today on its front page, and Naver Series and Naver Webtoon publish a daily ranking and a popularity list for each weekday. Chzzk, Naver’s live streaming service, lists the channels on air by its own viewer count. We show them as published, in their order. The Instagram list copies follower numbers from public ranking pages and is refreshed on the first day of each month. Korean titles come from saved titles and Wikidata. Posters come from the official Top 10 pages and saved artwork.

What are the thumbs and “went to watch”?

What people on this site have pressed. They are no platform’s figures, and one person counts once per item per day. No number is ever invented, so at first most rows show none.

How does today’s leader differ from a lasting entry?

The current ranking compares recent viewing growth. A sudden surge can put a video near the top. Explore lasting attention in This week.

“No. 1 each day” means first in that day’s final archived list. It does not mean the most views that day. YouTube and Shorts also show five lasting entries with at least 24 hours in the list this week.

A new leader may not appear in the weekly selection yet. A video below first place can stay there through repeated appearances. Follow a date link to see that day’s full rankings.

What do arrows and streaks mean?

▲3 means a rise of three places since the comparison list. It does not mean three times as many views. A YouTube “5h streak” means five consecutive hours in the list.

A Netflix “3wk streak” means three consecutive weeks in its official Korea Top 10. Time in a list differs from time since release. Older titles can return when interest grows.

What do the Food Top 5 lists compare?

Selection notes and source videos for each shop: Bunsik · Dakgangjeong · Galbi · Gukbap · Naengmyeon · Kalguksu · Jjajangmyeon · Tonkatsu · Ramen · Burgers

Each category compares up to five shops selected by the operator. Only visit videos with at least 100,000 views count. Each channel counts once, so repeated uploads do not raise a shop’s position.

This is not a taste score for every restaurant in Korea. Tap a shop to watch a visit video. Use the region and signature dish to narrow your choices, then explore the food and setting in the video.
